CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - Police have located the man they say shot two people at a halfway house on Friday.

At about 12:30 p.m. police arrested Francis Pizzo, 46, after a search that lasted all morning.

Pizzo was found at his mother's house at a home near Deckers and was arrested without incident.

Authorities said Pizzo walked inside the Arapahoe County Treatment Center and opened fire. The shooting happened in the 3200 block of West Girard Street at approximately 1 a.m.

Two people were taken to the hospital and it's expected that they will survive.

"Because of the nature of the type of crime that they had we felt like officer safety and public safety was significantly in jeopardy," said Douglas County Sheriff's Office spokesman Tim Moore.

Police said Pizzo is a former client of the facility. He didn't return from work release on Wednesday.

"He was a resident of the facility until earlier this week when he failed to show up," said Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office Capt. Larry Etheridge.

Pizzo had been at the facility since early March. He was serving a three year sentence for leaving the scene of an accident.
