OC Sheriff's Deputies Respond To Shots Fired Call In Silverado Canyon
SILVERADO (CBSLA.com) — Orange County Sheriff's deputies Wednesday responded to a shots fired call near an equestrian center in Silverado Canyon.
Officials responded to a call around 11 a.m. at Williams Canyon and Modjeska Canyon roads.
"The preliminary information was that shots were heard and that witnesses did see bullets, or some type of projectile, hit trunks of trees on the property where the equestrian center was," Lt. Jeff Hallock said.
SWAT officers worked to evacuate at least eight people, including one child, from the property.
"A vehicle was seen leaving the area of the Jackson Ranch property; that vehicle was involved in some type of collision. At some point that person was detained in connection with this incident as strictly a person of interest," Hallock said.
East Santiago Canyon Road was shut down between Williams and Modjeska Canyon roads.
No injuries have been reported.
