LAPD Investigating Unrelated Shooting, Stabbing In Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Police Monday were investigating an unrelated shooting and stabbing that took place at a nightclub and restaurant in Hollywood.

Three men were shot around 1:15 a.m. outside of Joseph's nightclub, 1775 Ivar Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Investigators say the shootings are likely linked to an argument that took place inside the club earlier in the evening.

Witnesses said that after the shots rang out, clubgoers scrambled.

"All the people in club . . . went backwards into a like, defensive stance, so I figured something was going on," patron Hector Zach said.

All three victims were transported to a local hospital where they were listed in stable condition. Their identities were not released.

Police believe the suspect fled the scene in a 7-series BMW.

A stabbing also occurred around 1:15 a.m. Monday outside of a pizza parlor in the 6700 block of Hollywood Boulevard, the LAPD said.

Police said two men were eating outside of Leila's Pizza and Deli when they were attacked following an argument with three or four suspects.

The suspects fled the scene on foot and the two victims were transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

The stabbings were gang-related, officials said.

Anyone with information about either crime should contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
