Ex-Marine Sentenced To Death In Murder Of Fellow Service Member, Wife

RIVERSIDE (AP) — A former Marine has been sentenced to death for the murders of a fellow Marine and his wife in a brutal attack on their Southern California home.

A Riverside County Superior Court judge ordered the sentence Friday for 25-year-old Tyrone Miller — one of three former Marines convicted of killing Sgt. Jan Pietrzak and his wife Quiana Jenkins-Pietrzak in October 2008.

Prosecutors say the men went to Pietrzak's house to rob him. Pietrzak was assaulted and his wife sexually assaulted before they were killed.

Jurors convicted three former Marines of the murders last month. They recommended the death penalty for Miller and 23-year-old Emrys John and life without parole for 25-year-old Kevin Cox.

A fourth man charged in the killings is being tried separately.
