Police: Man Jailed For Using Antlers To Attack Disabled Dad

MONONGAHELA, Pa. (KDKA/AP) - A Washington County man has been jailed on charges he used a set of mounted deer antlers to attack his disabled father.

Twenty-six-year-old Arthur Benoit III, of Monongahela, faces a preliminary hearing March 10 on charges including assault and terroristic threats.

Police charged Benoit earlier this week for the Feb. 17 incident at the home he shared with his father.

Police say Benoit became angry when his dad wouldn't get out of bed that morning and broke the older man's wheelchair and cellphone. He also used plaque mounted antlers to threaten him, saying, "I'll kill you."

Police say he also threatened to kill his father while holding a pen over him and mimicked stabbing him.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Benoit. He remained in the Washington County Jail on Friday, unable to post $10,000 bond.
