PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Authorities say two drivers face charges in connection with Tuesday night's deadly crash on Roosevelt Boulevard that left a mother and her three sons dead.

The woman's fourth son was injured.

According to Philadelphia Police, the Accident Investigation Division, with the assistance of Lancaster City Police Department, arrested 23-year-old Khusen Akhmedov of Lancaster City, Pa. Wednesday night.

AID officers also arrested 30-year-old Ahmen Holloman of Philadelphia.

Police say Akhmedov and Holloman are charged with four counts of the following: Homicide by Vehicle, Third Degree Murder, and Involuntary Manslaughter. They are also charged with five counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, one count of Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Aggravated Assault by Vehicle.  They are both being held on $2.5-million bail.

The crash happened Tuesday at about 10:20 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard near Rockland Street in Feltonville.

Philadelphia police say 28-year-old Samara Selena Banks and her four sons were crossing Roosevelt Boulevard when they were struck by a vehicle.

Banks and her 23-month-old son were pronounced dead at the scene.

Seven-month-old Saamir Williams was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center, but was later pronounced dead.

A four-year-old boy was transported to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and was pronounced dead at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday.

A five-year-old was taken to the hospital with bumps and bruises, and was later released.

Police say the 23-year-old driver, operating an Audi, remained at the scene. He was taken to Philadelphia Police Headquarters for questioning.

Eyewitnesses told investigators that Akhmedov and Holloman were drag racing, but police tell Eyewitness News their investigation revealed the two drivers were driving aggressively and recklessly, and as a result have been charged with various offenses.
