Police Seek Help Locating Missing Placentia Woman, 24

PLACENTIA (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday were seeking the public's help in locating a missing 24-year-old woman from Orange County.

Shameca Lewis Johnson was last seen leaving her residence in the 1500 block of Sierra Bonita in Placentia on Aug. 20 between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Johnson, who is also known as "Meca", does not own a vehicle and regularly walks to work near Kraemer Boulevard and Imperial Highway in the city of Brea, police said.

She has no bank account, a limited amount of money and her cell phone is not operating, according to authorities.

"It is very uncharacteristic for her to be gone for this amount of time," Placentia police said in a statement. "Further, Shameca left all her personal effects, along with sentimental items that she would have taken should she have decided not to return."

Johnson is five feet three inches tall, weighing 105 pounds with red hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen possibly wearing a black tank top, khaki pants, plastic multi-colored bracelets, a chain mail bracelet and a silver thumb ring. She also could have been carrying a tan leather wallet with a chain and a dark colored camelback backpack, according to officials.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Det. Jason Reger at (714)993-8187.
