Best Restaurants To Celebrate Easter 2015 In NYC

Celebrate Easter with friends and family around the table. Here are some of our favorite restaurants serving special brunch, high tea, and dinner menus for the holiday. By Carly Petrone.

CATCH is not only opening up its doors for al fresco dining this Easter but they're also serving up the first ramps of the season during their holiday brunch service. Executive Chef John Beatty will be offering his take on classic brunch items like Mergues Baked Eggs ($14) with spicy tomato, lamb sausage, and grilled ramps; Creamy Crab & Avocado Benedict ($16) with peekytoe, mascarpone, and oven roasted tomato hollandaise; and Wild Sake Cured Salmon ($12) with yuzu crème fraiche, spring onions, bady radish, caper berries, and pumpernickel. Pair your meal with a refreshing cocktail like the Hermes ($15) – Belvedere Mango Passion, Thai Basil, Lemon, and Orgeat – or The Mighty Aphrodite ($13) – Absolut Pears, Orgeat, Lemon Juice, and Squirrel Nut Bitters. Bring the entire family to Easter brunch at Clement Restaurant & Bar inside The Peninsula New York. This Sunday buffet includes more than 50 dishes ranging from a raw bar of glistening oysters, Nantucket scallops, and caviar to entrée choices like baked lobster pasta and braised lamb shank. And don't miss the eggs-your-way and prime rib carving station, as well as the dessert display filled with 21 cakes, tarts, chocolates, and petite fours. Kids can even follow the Easter bunny around from 1 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. for a festive Easter egg hunt throughout the lobby. Take in views of Fifth Ave. and the annual Easter Parade taking place right outside. Brunch will be served from 11:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Cost is $165/person, $75 for children aged 12 and under. Celebrate Easter with a high tea service at Measure Lounge inside Langham Place. Enjoy a selection of teas from In Pursuit of Tea – may we suggest the refreshing Mint Hearbal Tea or fragrant Earl Gray? Pair it with hot cross scones served with homemade jam and clotted cream. Adults can enjoy a three-course menu by Chef David Vandenabeele that includes a Free Range Egg Roll and Micro Herbs, Warm Scallop Quiche, Asparagus and French Ham, and Easter Profiterole. Kids can get in on the action too. They'll love you for introducing them to Frosted Flake Crusted PB&J, Deviled Chicks, and Cheese and Toast. And don't forget the chocolate bunnies and vanilla ice cream puffs they'll get to devour. Tina deVaron will also be leading a sing-along called "Tunes with Tina" during this festive Easter Afternoon Tea. $40 for adults, $20 for children.

Enjoy a 4-course pre-fixe menu at BLT Steak New York. Choose from Alder Smoked Ora King Salmon or Asparagus Soup to start followed by Roasted Leg of Lamb or Steamed Black Bass next. The third-course includes Heirloom Carrots or Chive Latkes with Caviar Crème Fraiche. End your meal with decadent Flourless Chocolate Cake or Pavlova with tropical fruits and almond. Pair with one of their signature cocktails like the Equinox – Hendricks gin, Esprit de June, Campari, and fresh lime – or the warm Sweet Heat – MarieBelle Spicy Hot Chocolate, Solerno, Tia Maria, whipped cream, and cinnamon. Pre-fixe menu is $60 and a la carte options are also available.

Go south of the border this Easter Sunday. Enjoy two authentic Mexican dining experiences with their holiday brunch and dinner menus. Brunch will be served from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and includes organic dishes like Huevos con Esparragos, Guajillo y Limon (fried organic eggs with grilled asparagus, queso Chichuahua, guajillo salsa, avocado, cilantro, and bolilo crostini) and Bunuelos de Maiz – sweet corn firtters, fresh berries, hibiscus syrup, and crema fresca. Don't skip out on dessert because they'll be serving Pay de Queso y Planto which is an individual banana cheesecake with Gran Marnier macerated strawberries. Easter dinner is from 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. and includes first course choices of Queso al Horno and Huevos Ahogado. For the second course, choose from Salmon con Arroz de Limon, Pollo con Calabacitas, and Chuletas de Cordero con Mole Verde (roasted rack of lamb, jalapeno hash browns, Veracruz peanut cilantro mole verde). Brunch is $12 a la carte or $18 prix fix with special Florecimiento Rosa cocktail.

Start your Easter dinner out with Chef David Arias' festive Italian Pane di Pasqua (Easter Bread) at Abboccato Italian Kitchen. Warm up with a bowl of Stracciatella alla Romana – traditional Roman Easter soup, Capon, Escarole, Spring Pea Tortellini, Egg, and Parmigiano Reggiano – before moving onto the primi: Papparadelle al Coniglio (hand cut ribbon pasta, braised rabbit, fava beans, tomato, and castelvetrano olives). The secondi course is Abbachio – Baby Lamb Shank, Fingerling Potatoes, Sauteed Swiss Chard, Cipollini Onions, and Pancetta. Satisfy your sweet tooth with Crostata de Miele. This Honey Cake is bathed in Cinnamon Syrup and topped with whipped cream and a side of vanilla ice cream. Dinner is $55/person or $85 with select Italian wine pairing.

Who can say no to the weekend menu at egg? From biscuits & gravy to Eggs Rothko (easy-cooked egg in a slice of Amy's brioche and topped with Grafton cheddar) this place has all the breakfast fixings you could want. In the mood for lunch this Easter Sunday? Try the Hot Ham and Pimento Cheese – country ham and home-made pimento cheese grilled on a baguette – or Carolina Kale – organic kale and tomatoes in a lightly spiced broth served over grilled cornbread. If you're a pancake lover, you've got to try their organice cakes with Vermont maple syrup. Classic dishes are the way to go this holiday weekend.

If you're celebrating Greek Easter on April 12th make sure to stop into Molyvos for a traditional Greek brunch. $60 will get you quite the spread, including Magiritsa (Traditional Easter Soup), Salata me Agginares (Marinated Artichoke Salad), Arnaki sto Fourno (Slow Roasted Vermont Baby Lamb), and Souffle Sokolatas (Vinsanto Chocolate Souffle Cake). Sip on a refreshing glass of rose ($15) from Greece's own Alpha Estate or try one of their tasty mediterranean cocktails like the Corfu Blood Orange Martini ($14) or Lesvos Lemonada ($14). Executive Chef Carlos Carreto and Collaborating Chef Diane Kochilas are bringing a little piece of Greece to Manhattan with this delicious holiday menu. And don't forget to enjoy the Greek Easter Eggs and Homemade Tsoureki.

Spend your Easter Sunday perusing all the great food and Italian goods at Eataly. Make a reservation to dine upstairs at their rooftop restaurant, Birreria, and enjoy a special three-course tasting menu. Reservations can be made from 11:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. and meal includes an Anitpasto, Secondo, and Dolce for $48/person. First, nosh on grilled asparagus with Parmigiano Reggiano Zabaione, Prosciutto di Parma, and Housemade Grilled Rustico. Then, bite into Hops Braised Colorado Lamb Shank with Roasted Sweet Carrots, Crispy Fingerling Potatoes, and Mint Pesto. Finally, finish off your meal with decadent Tortino con Ricotta with Candied Orange Zest. Pair your meal with a fresh Bellini ($10) or a Brass Monkey ($9). You might be full after this feast but there's so many things to explore downstairs that you might want to take something home for later. We won't judge.
