Poll: Would You Pay More At The Pump For Better Roads?

TRENTON, NJ (CBS) – Would you be willing to pay more for gas if it meant better road conditions?

A new Quinnipiac poll released Tuesday shows New Jersey voters are.

According to the poll, 50 percent of NJ voters said they are in favor of hiking the gas tax, while 47 percent oppose it.

This is the first time ever that the majority of people support a hike.

The money would be used to finance road improvements and to revamp mass transit.

Another thing New Jersey voters support?

A "millionaires' tax." Sixty-four percent said they support raising taxes on those who make $1 million or more to help fund public employee pensions.

Gov. Christie has said he would veto such a tax.
