Viewers Stunned By Cable Outages Prior To Pacquiao, Mayweather Fight

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Minutes before the highly-anticipated fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. was set to get underway in Las Vegas, viewers were stunned to discover technical difficulties instead.

Customers of Time Warner Cable, Charter, and other cable providers were all experiencing outages shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, about 40 minutes before the fight was originally set to begin.

Outraged viewers took to social media to share frustration, as providers were working to resolve technical issues.

DirecTV tweeted troubleshooting tips to viewers as the difficulties were being investigated.

At 8:25 p.m., it was reported that the fight was being delayed, due to wide reports of cable outages.
