Chip Kelly Says He's 'A Fan' Of Tim Tebow

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- On Monday at the NFL Annual Meeting, Chip Kelly spoke with NFL Network about the Eagles decision to work out former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow. The former Jets and Broncos quarterback worked out for the Eagles as he attempts to make an NFL comeback and Kelly expressed that he has "always been a fan of Tim."

Kelly added that what the Eagles did with Tebow was not out of the ordinary at all.

"We bring in a lot of players for private workouts," Kelly said. "It's just that [Tebow] is the one that everyone keeps talking about."

Kelly reminded people that the Eagles also worked out quarterbacks Terrelle Pryor and Thad Lewis. Neither of them received the level of attention that the Tebow workout did.

"When players are available for you to work them out it's the same thing of going to the Veteran Combine or going to the Super Regional Combine."

Kelly stressed that the Eagles were just doing their homework so that if the time comes to make a decision on a free agent player, they have a basis of information to refer to.
