Camille Cosby Breaks Silence On Accusations Against Embattled Comedian

By Kim Glovas

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- In light of the continuing controversy swirling around Bill Cosby, the comedian's wife now is speaking out.

The statement issued by Camille Cosby declares her husband to be a kind, generous and funny man and a wonderful husband, father and friend. In the statement, Dr. Cosby says she first met her husband in 1963 and they were married the following year.

However, she says, a different man has been portrayed in the media recently: a man she says she doesn't know. She says there is no vetting of her husband's accusers, and she asks "who is the victim?"

The firestorm against Bill Cosby has been building with at least 19 women coming forward to publicly accuse him of drugging and sexually assaulting them. Three colleges have cut ties with Cosby in the fallout: his alma mater, Temple University, the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and Spelman College.

The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Michael Stevens also announced the Navy is revoking Bill Cosby's title of honorary Chief Petty Officer following the numerous accusations.
