You Can Find Fortune's Number One Workplace For Millennials On The Chester Waterfront

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) --- The number-one company on Fortune magazine's list of "Top 100-workplaces for Millennials" isn't a tech company in Silicon Valley. And it's not a finance company on Wall Street. Instead, it's a home-remodeling company on the waterfront in Chester.
Power Home Remodeling Group co-CEO 35-year-old Asher Raphael says he's not surprised his company tops Fortune Magazine's list of top workplaces for millennials, because, as he puts it, they appeal to over-achievers.
"We want to make our industry as sophisticated in scale that is as impressive as anything that you're going to find on Wall Street or in Northern California," Raphael says.
To him, it's no surprise his company beat out Silicon Valley and Wall Street.
"I don't want people coming here for a paycheck," he says. "I want people to feel like totally impassioned with where they work, totally appreciated, totally challenged."
Which, Rapheal agrees, doesn't fit the stereotype of a construction company.
"We don't want to be like the rest of this industry, we're trying to revolutionize this industry and bring a different type of scale, sophistication and honesty than anyone ever has before us."
The company employs 1,500 people in 10-major cities. 84% of the workforce fall under the millennial category.
"Our goal isn't to drive revenue and it's not EBITA (Earnings before interest, taxes and amortization). It's to better all of the people that we come into contact with, and if that's your North Star, getting there isn't as hard as people think," Raphael says.
The Fortune Magazine rankings are based on a survey of 90,000 workers under age 35.
