New Jersey Animal Shelter To Launch Pet Food Pantry

CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) – South Jersey pet owners going through hard times will soon have a place to turn.

Actually, they'll have several.

The Animal Alliance of Camden County announced Thursday that it will be launching its community pet food assistance program on April 11th.

The Camden County Pet Food Pantry locations will provide nutritional assistance to pets in need and will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for food pick-up on the second Saturday of every month.

Here are the three pantry locations:

Animal Adoption Center
501 Berlin Rd N, Lindenwold, NJ 08021, www.aacnj.org

Animal Welfare Association
509 Centennial Blvd, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043, www.awanj.org

Camden County Animal Shelter
125 County House Road, Blackwood NJ 08012, www.ccasnj.org

"Families should not be faced with the difficult choice of giving up a cherished pet when purchasing food becomes a challenge," says Freeholder Michelle Gentek, liaison to the Camden County Animal Shelter.
