2 Firefighters Injured In Covina Firefight
COVINA (CBSLA.com) — Two firefighters were injured Saturday in the course of a two-hour firefight at a large commercial building in Covina on Saturday.
The fire was reported at 8:30 a.m. in the single-story, 20,000 square- foot building, in the 1000 block of Edna Place, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
A second alarm was called at 8:47 a.m., raising the total number of firefighters on the scene from about 30 to 85, the Fire Department said.
The flames were reported out at 10:37 a.m. Firefighters remained on the scene into the afternoon.
Fire investigators and hazardous materials experts also responded to the scene.
There was no one inside the building at the time of the fire.
Two firefighters were taken to area hospitals with injuries. Their condition was not immediately available.
