Man Charged With Stabbing Girlfriend To Death In Lansing
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man charged with stabbing his girlfriend to death during a domestic incident in south suburban Lansing was ordered held without bond Thursday.
Owen T. Stephney, 42, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder on Thursday, according to Lansing police.
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 3700 block of 173rd Court at 7:37 a.m. Tuesday and found a woman unresponsive in an apartment with several apparent stab wounds, according to Lansing police.
Rochelle D. Rebb, 49, who lived at that address, was dead at the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
An autopsy Wednesday found she died of multiple sharp and blunt-force injuries, and her death was ruled a homicide, the medical examiner's office said.
Officers arrested Stephney at his home in the 16900 block of Shea Street in Hazel Crest, police said.
He is scheduled to appear in court next Sept. 23.
