The beauty of eating seafood is the versatility of it. Long gone are the days of pan fried with a slice of lemon or a side of cocktail sauce. Today, chefs get playful with flavor, cooking technique and presentation when it comes to fish. Los Angeles restaurants pride themselves on locally sourced seafood but also have no issue bringing in freshly harvested oysters from oceans all over the world. CAST restaurant takes diners on an adventure with a menu featuring unexpected twists and flavors. No doubt about it, you definitely come to L&E for the oysters. The Silver Lake restaurant may not be steps from the ocean, but it delivers on fresh fish daily from Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The oyster menu is extensive, offering guests raw (served on a bed of ice with vinegar to dip), grilled (casino, Rockefeller or L&E style) and fried (with a side of gribiche sauce). The in-house smoked mussels are served in glass jars marinated in olive oil, lemon zest and fried capers with chorizo toast on the side. And for entrees, consider the whole-roasted fish or arctic char.

Los Angeles is known for a wide variety of seafood restaurants, but Connie & Teds is one of those restaurants which solely dedicates their menu to seafood. While you may find a few stray dishes that don't have any seafood in it, the bulk of the menu is seafood seafood seafood. And, with so many great options to choose from at this West Hollywood hot spot, you might feel a bit overwhelmed when it comes to ordering. Everything on the menu though is delicious, but items like Joanne's Fish and Chips or the grilled catch of the day, the batter dipped cod, and the rock shrimp salad are big stand out items. Their lobster dishes do get rave reviews too, including their lobster by the pound served with herbed oil or drawn butter, as well as the very popular lobster roll (served hot or cold).

If you love seafood, chances are you love lobster too. And, out of any lobster restaurant in the city, you know a restaurant named after the seafood delicacy is offering up the freshest and the best around. Serving fresh seafood at the entrance to the historic Santa Monica Pier, the lobster serves lobster dishes throughout the day for brunch, lunch and dinner. Patrons have their choice of several options including a steamed American lobster with green beans, potatoes and drawn butter, the grilled American lobster with fresh herbs, lemon and garlic butter, or the butter poached American lobster. Complete with lobster mash with English peas, asparagus, mushrooms and lobster Americaine sauce, the restaurant can be a bit pricey, but lobster usually is known to set you back a few extra dollars. It's a great destination for a birthday or anniversary, or just for a nice night out. The Lobster also offers other seafood dishes as well.
