Once upon a time, a pet food recall sparked Dunbar to create a local store where dogs are welcome and human pet parents can purchase organic, natural foods and treats as well as fun toys and other supplies. Pawsmopolitan is well stocked with high-quality, top-of-the-line foods, toys and apparel (including Patriots clothing). Located across from the common in Foxboro, the store is open six days a week and is easy to find.

Proprietors Mack, Jackson and Manny (that's two dogs and a cat) opened the bakery in November of 2008 with a little help from their owner/father who had a lot of experience from his environmental career. The store offers monthly and internet specials (10 percent off for signing up for email notifications and a Treat of the Month Club), as well as occasional in-store photo events. There's even a small selection of items for humans.

Bark Back Bakery of Bellingham is a family-owned pet supply shop and bakery featuring gluten-free items for pets. The company's motto is "Real Ingredients for Real Pets." The shop offers grain-free, corn-free and wheat-free dog treats, grooming supplies, pet-themed decorations for the home, cat and dog toys and pet-friendly cleaning products. Baked goods for pets are made with high-quality, human-grade ingredients normally purchased from local suppliers. Sugar, salt, fillers and by-products are not included.
