Bank Forecloses On Teresa & Joe Giudice Mansion In New Jersey

MONTVILLE, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) – There's some more bad news for "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice and her husband.

Their home is under foreclosure, CBS2 reported.

The same day the Giudices' new real estate agent vowed to aggressively market their mansion, the bank that holds the couple's mortgage started foreclosure proceedings.

The six-bedroom home in Montville has been on the market for months. The stone and stucco home was built in 2008 on a nearly 4-acre lot that includes a stream and a pond.

Guidice has been serving a 15-month sentence at a federal prison in Danbury, Conn., for bankruptcy fraud and is expected to be released in February. That is when her husband Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice will begin serving his 3 1/2-year sentence for bankruptcy fraud.

The two pleaded guilty last year and admitted hiding assets from bankruptcy creditors and submitting phony loan applications to get some $5 million in mortgages and construction loans. Joe also pleaded guilty to failing to pay taxes totaling more than $200,000.

In January, CBS learned the Bureau of Prisons cut Teresa Giudice's sentence by 54 days and could get additional days shaved off for good behavior.

Joe Giudice is not an American citizen, and he faces an immigration hearing when he completes his sentence and likely will be deported. His attorney has said Giudice came to the U.S. as an infant and didn't know he wasn't an American citizen until he was an adult.

Joe Giudice also pleaded guilty in state court in October to unlawful use of identification in a case involving a bogus driver's license. His 18-month sentence will run concurrent with his federal sentence. In a plea deal, he agreed to lose his license for up to two years and pay a fine of $10,000.
