CHICAGO (CBS) -- Law enforcement sources tell CBS 2 that the murders of six people in Gage Park may be linked to a drug cartel.

Extra patrols remain assigned although Roy says this was not a random act.

"Based upon our examination of the scene, the circumstances, we feel at this point we are proceeding on the assumption or on the theory that the family was targeted," Roy says.

Cook County Commissioner Sean Morrison has offered $2,000 in reward money for information leading to an arrest and conviction, but the offer is only good for 10 days.
