Rapper DMX Saved After Collapsing In Yonkers Hotel Parking Lot

YONKERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- First responders saved rapper DMX after he collapsed in the parking lot of a hotel in Yonkers early Monday evening.

Yonkers Detective Lt. Patrick McCormack, who couldn't identify the victim as DMX, said responders found the man lifeless in the parking lot of the Ramada Inn on Tuckahoe Road.

"No pulse and not breathing," McCormack told WCBS 880's Stephanie Colombini.

McCormack said police were advised the man had taken some sort of substance, that prompted ambulance workers to administer Narcan, a drug that stops opioid overdoses.

"He subsequently became a little bit more elevated and in a semiconscious state," McCormack said.

A lawyer for DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, confirmed his client was the victim.

The 45-year-old was taken to the hospital and has since been released.

The rapper is not facing charges, Colombini reported.
