Man Pleads Guilty To Fatally Shooting Wife After Marriage Counseling Session
SAN DIEGO (AP) — A man who shot his wife to death outside the San Diego office of their marriage counselor has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder.
The San Diego Union-Tribune says Jeremy Green entered the plea on Wednesday in San Diego. He's now facing 35 years to life in prison.
Prosecutors say 37-year-old Tressa Green — who had two children with Green — filed for divorce weeks before the shooting but agreed to counseling.
Authorities say the couple had just finished a counseling session on June 6 and Mrs. Green was about to get into the car when her husband got a shotgun from the trunk and shot her — then fired twice more as she lay on the ground.
Green fled to Mexico but later surrendered to U.S. authorities.
