Best Running Clubs In Orange County

Many believe it's easier to commit to fitness when having a buddy to join you for workouts. These running communities may help give you motivation and encouragement to meet your fitness goals. With training, races and meet-ups for all levels of runners, you are likely to find a group that is a good fit.

No matter if you are new to running or are an advanced athlete, CalCoast Track Club likely has a program fit for your goals. The group consists of youth and adults and has social events, races and group trips each month. There's running events offered Monday through Saturday each week, and the club's coach, Bill Sumner is sure to inspire. He's received several honors including being named "National Coach of the Year" by ESPN and has coached 27 Olympic Trial qualifiers.

South Coast Roadrunners meet all over Orange County and takes advantage of the breathtaking terrains the area offers. The group meets for runs on trails, the beach and the pavement. Each month, there's special running meet-ups and social events, and each week, there are designated runs on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:15 p.m. in Irvine. On Saturdays, there is an early run hosted at 6:45 a.m. at a different location each week.

Orange County Hash House Harriers

If you love running and beer, look no further. Orange County Hash House Harriers meets three Saturdays each month to run and guzzle down some tasty brews. All you have to do is bring $5 to each event and you can join in for good times. In addition to Orange County meet-ups like "OC Hump Hash" to get through the mid-week grind, there's running events hosted in Long Beach and Los Angeles each week. Established as one of the first running clubs in OC, Orange County Track Club is coached by Charlie Appell, who was awarded by the area as "Coach of the Year" and meets for runs not just on the track, but also enjoys running on trails, the beach and the road. On Tuesdays, there's track workouts hosted by the organization, and on weekends, there are beach runs. The group also has monthly dinners and an annual "Pancake Race" in which the entire family can participate in a variety of walks and runs and of course, eat pancakes.

With multiple running sessions hosted every week, A Snail's Pace Running Club will help you get in shape in no time. There's conveniently four clubs open in the area including Brea, Mission Viejo, Fountain Valley and Monrovia, and all of the clubs have different events such as "Yoga for Runners" and "Ninja Runner" that help keep workouts fun and challenging. Additionally, if you are interested in fitness instruction, A Snail's Pace Running Club also has an academy with classes focusing on running technique, weight management and strength and conditioning.
