Boston's Best Chinese Restaurants

Boston has a wide variety of Chinese restaurants. From hole-in-the-wall dives in Chinatown to upscale fusion restaurants, there is something for every taste. There are options for foodies, picky eaters, partiers and people that would prefer to just eat at home. Here are the best Chinese food venues in the city, no matter what you're searching for!

Myers And Chang
1145 Washington St.
Boston, MA 02118

Myers and Chang is one of Boston's trendiest restaurants, but it does its job to earn the hype. Chef Joanne Chang also runs the city's best bakery, Flour, and has written a cookbook. But Myers and Chang is really the crown jewel of her budding foodie empire. The Asian fusion dishes at Myers and Chang are delicious and made from fresh local ingredients. Like Flour, Myers and Chang also has many gluten-free options and can provide options for people with other types of food allergies as well. Specifically, they have a shellfish-free menu and a nut-free menu. That means Myers and Chang is always a great option for large groups.

Gourmet Dumpling House
52 Beach St.
Boston, MA 02111
(617) 338-6223

For more adventurous eaters or those seeking more traditional Chinese food will love Gourmet Dumpling House. Located in the heart of Chinatown, Gourmet Dumpling House is more of a classic experience. Of course order the dumplings, but don't forget to try the spicy calamari, ma po tofu and the sliced Szechuan fish. This spot is super popular and is especially famous for their soup dumplings. Make sure to go there when you're not in a rush because there is often a line out the door. But if you have time, Gourmet Dumpling House is certainly worth the wait.

Boston's North End is best known for its Italian fare, but the neighborhood is also home to the city's best takeout Chinese restaurant. They deliver anywhere in the city for free — just don't forget to tip the delivery driver! An order from Billy's is the perfect solution to a dark, cold, snowy Sunday or addition to a Netflix date. Their Thai Noodle dish, a take on pad thai, is simply fantastic and the portions will last for days. One order can easily feed two. The scallion pancakes are also top notch.

Red Lantern, located at the border between Boston's Back Bay and the South End, specializes in high-end, pan-Asian fusion cuisine. Diners can enjoy classic Chinese dishes paired with sushi, pork buns, tropical cocktails and more. Red Lantern is a favorite for birthdays, bachelorettes and other celebrations not only because the food is fantastic, but also because the atmosphere is fun and exotic. Hei La Moon

Hei La Moon is another take on Chinese food in Boston — dim sum! Dim Sum is such a fun eating experience for anyone visiting Chinatown. Hei La Moon is also great for large events because the location is a spacious two stories and has a banquet room. It is a great venue for an alternative office party or a larger birthday party type of event. Hei La Moon is a popular lunch spot, and is a great alternative when Gourmet Dumpling House is too crowded.
