Top Late-Night Eats In Philadelphia

Many great bars and restaurants in Philadelphia serve food until one or two in the morning, but there are also many places that are open far after the 2 a.m. alcohol cut-off time. Of course, there's always Pat's or Geno's, but if you want to venture away from your usual cheesesteak, try one of the following places listed below.

Darling's Diner is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and has a full bar until 2 a.m. every night. The diner also offers a delivery option until 10 p.m. Darling's Diner is known for its delicious cheesecakes, which come in many varieties including graham cracker and bananas foster. Its menu, in keeping with classic diner fashion, is huge and chock-full of American delicacies, like steaks, burgers and sandwiches. Specials are held weekly, especially during sporting events.

Insomnia Cookies started in a college dorm room at the University of Pennsylvania and, 12 years later, has expanded to include more than fifty store locations across the United States, including seven in Philadelphia. Insomnia Cookies is open until 3 a.m. and also offers delivery until 3 a.m. Perfect for those with a late-night sweet tooth, this company serves 12 varieties of cookies, brownies, cookie cakes, cold milk and ice cream (yes, they even deliver that ice cream!). A single cookie is only $1.35, or you can purchase 12 for $14, 18 for $20 or 24 for $26. The delicious flavors include double chocolate mint M&M, oatmeal raisin and snickerdoodle.

The former Sammy Chon's K-Town BBQ reinvented itself last year and became K-Top, an Asian fusion restaurant and karaoke bar in Chinatown. Open until 3 a.m. Monday through Thursday and until 4 a.m. on the weekends, the menu consists mostly of Korean plates, but also includes a fusion of Chinese, Japanese and Thai tastes. The food is served until closing, however the bar stops at 2 a.m. Karaoke is found upstairs in the private rooms, which you should call to reserve ahead of time on the weekends.

There are plenty of places on South Street to grab a late night snack or cheesesteak, but for a cheap slice of pizza, Lorenzo & Sons is your best bet. It's open until 4 a.m. and is known for its no frills environment, quick service, cheap prices and delicious cheese pies and slices. Don't be dissuaded if there's a long line out front, it'll move quickly and you'll be glad you waited. Lorenzo's went through a renovation a few years ago and it came back better than ever...the pizza slices are as big as they've ever been!

Underdogs, if you can't tell from the name already, serves hot dogs and sausages until midnight Sunday through Thursday and until 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. These aren't just ordinary hotdogs, however. Each one is made with 100% beef (vegan available) and served on Cacia's rolls (gluten-free rolls also available). They come in different varieties, such as the Coney Classic (with sauerkraut, spicy mustard) or the Manhattan (with red spicy onion sauce). Enjoy your hot dog or sausage with a big helping of perfectly cooked French fries and a special dipping sauce.
