Ed Bouchette On Maurkice Pouncey: "Probably" Done For Season

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Word began to circulate on Thursday about Steelers Center Maurkice Pouncey undergoing a second surgery on his injured ankle, and 93-7 The FAN Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette said it looks like the All-Pro could now miss the entire season.

Bouchette then joined Starkey and Mueller for his weekly segment to give us more details on the injury, telling us more about the infection he's dealing with.

"Infections are just, it seems like, a fact of life anymore if you go into a hospital. He had surgery on that lower fibula, ankle area and they found some bad infections and had to go back in."

When asked if there was any chance Pouncey could come back if they made a long playoff run, Bouchette tells us he was told Pouncey is "probably done."

Speaking on another injured Steeler, Ed tells us that, despite the rumors, Ben Roethlisberger will not play for the Steelers this weekend.

"He's not going to play this week," Bouchette told us. When asked about next week, Ed said "there's probably a chance."
