New to Rittenhouse Square, Revolution Taco is the brainchild of food truck owners Mike Sultan and Carolyn Nguyen of Street Food Philly and Taco Mondo and Alan Krawitz of Say Cheese Philadelphia. While tacos are the main focus, you also have the option of both burritos and burrito bowls – all made with fresh, seasonal ingredients, local produce (some is even grown by the owners themselves), and chef-made sauces. The burrito bowls trade the flour tortilla for lettuce. For a little something extra, look for the house-made salsas and sauces that are available as toppings and change seasonally.

Philadelphia, PA 19104

What started out as a small operation, selling tacos out of a brightly-colored truck, is now a University City favorite. Tom McCusker (a Drexel grad) became famous making and selling West coast style tacos while driving his truck throughout the city. After realizing that food trucks aren't as popular in the winter, he opened a casual restaurant in late 2011 where nearby college students can stop in for tacos, burritos and sides like chips, guacamole, and pico de gallo. The burritos are made with flour tortillas and filled with beans, rice, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo. Keep it simple with just those ingredients for $7.75 or opt for sweet potato or grilled vegetables for $8.50 or pork, beef or chicken for $8.75. You can also ask for a combo like sweet potato and chicken, one of their most popular items on the menu. The breakfast burrito (available every morning) is another Honest Tom's favorite.
