Man Arrested For Drug Possession During Raid Of Bieber's Calabasas Home

CALABASAS (CBSLA.com) — One person was arrested Tuesday after authorities served a felony search warrant at the Calabasas home of pop star Justin Bieber.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies began searching the home in the 25000 block of Prado del Grandioso inside the Oaks of Calabasas, a high-end gated community, around 8 a.m.

KNX 1070's Megan Goldsby reports a warrant was served after the 19-year-old singer was allegedly involved in a vandalism incident at his neighbor's home on Jan. 9.

Bieber is accused of throwing eggs and "a couple of other things" at the residence, causing an estimated $20,000 in damage to the property.

"We collected evidence related to that crime. Mr. Bieber was present and cooperative. He was not arrested," Lt. Dave Thompson said, adding that officials were hoping to find security video of the incident. Bieber remains a suspect in the vandalism investigation.

Xavier Dominic Smith, 20, also known as "Lil Za," was arrested at the residence for Xanax and ecstasy possession, which was unrelated to the egg-throwing incident. According to authorities, the drugs were in plain sight of the detectives. Several other individuals were at the home at the time of the search.

Roughly a dozen detectives and eight patrol cars were on scene, but Thompson said the response was typical for a felony investigation and that "none of this has anything to do with him being a celebrity."

In recent years, Bieber has been accused of battery, assaulting a paparazzo, reckless driving and threatening a neighbor.

A bus associated with his tour was also involved in a pot bust at the U.S.-Canada border in 2013.

The Oaks is home to other famous residents including Travis Barker, Keyshawn Johnson and the Jackson family.

In May 2013, Johnson complained Bieber was speeding through the neighborhood and putting local children at risk. The singer wasn't charged in the case.

Other neighbors in Calabasas are getting increasingly frustrated with Bieber's behavior.

"If this were 'Survivor,' Justin Bieber would totally be voted out of Calabasas...he'd be voted off the 'island,' absolutely," resident Amanda Martin said.
