MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Monday morning suspicious death on St. Paul's west side has been ruled a homicide by gun shot, according to police.

The St. Paul Police Department said Wednesday that Brandon James Horst, 25, died from at least one gun shot wound. Authorities initially found Horst, who is a staff sergeant with the Minnesota National Guard's 133rd security force squadron, unresponsive on the 400 block of Bellows Street.

Police said they are following leads, but no one has yet been arrested.

Maj. Ann Todd with the 133rd Airlift Wing Public Affairs Office says they are offering support to Horst's family.
