Freeze Warning In Effect For Some Parts Of The Region

By Kathy Orr

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Winds have finally diminished, helping firefighters contain the relentless forest fires in New Jersey.

Skies will stay clear overnight, and winds will be light allowing temperatures to plunge. In our far Northern and Western Suburbs and the Lehigh Valley, a Freeze Warning is in effect until 8am Friday.

WATCH: Kathy's Latest Weather Forecast

Temperatures will rebound into the 60s Friday afternoon, but another system will bring some clouds and then showers during the evening commute and continue into the nighttime hours.

Saturday there will be sunshine with highs around 70° but we will also have a risk of a few showers with a secondary frontal boundary passing through in the afternoon.

The second half of the weekend will be slightly cooler but sunny, the high 63, Sunday.

Monday will be similar, with a high of 64 degrees.

Enjoy the sunshine, because a damp, chilly pattern begins next Tuesday and may continue through next week, as May begins!
