Former Governor Charlie Crist Visits Versailles
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Just six months shy of elections, former governor Charlie Crist was in Miami Monday and made a stop at Versailles on Calle Ocho.
"I'm delighted to be in South Florida in fact, I don't know if you know, but my wife and I have rented a condominium in Broward County so we can be close and here a lot, Crist said, adding, "Cause it's important."
Crist spoke to the media outside Versailles about Miami being "a trade beacon for the world."
"One of the things I talked about when I announced that I was running back in November is that we need to do more trade, we're the gateway for to Latin America we're the gateway to South America it's a wonderful place to live and a great place to work and we gotta be doing more and doing better," Crist said.
With the ending of the 2014 Legislative session on Friday, Crist said he was disappointed in the legislature and Governor Rick Scott for not stepping-up and getting the job done on Medicaid expansion.
As a result, Crist said, about one million Floridians are not going to have healthcare.
Scott, meanwhile, was at a car dealership Monday with a new slogan, "Let's keep working," which he said should replace his 2010 slogan of, "Let's go to work."

The event began a week of campaigning with a focus on $500 million in tax cuts Scott and the Legislature are making this year, including $400 million in motor vehicle registration fees that were raised under then Gov. Crist.
Scott, according to the Associated Press, was well-received by supporters.
But, Crist said Monday, that "six months from now hopefully we'll have a change."
Crist told the media that his campaign is about better leadership, more compassion and helping the people who really need help.
"I'm trying to become governor again because we need a governor with a heart," said Crist.
Crist also answered questions in regards to his stance on certain issues.
"Gay marriage I have evolved," said Crist who credits President Obama.
