Best Polish Food In Minnesota

Minnesota has a respectable dining scene in the Midwest when it comes to international cuisine. Among these ranks are a few delicious Polish spots where you can fill up on the cuisine of the country. Check out these spots for some great Polish food when that craving calls for kielbasa.

Nye's Polonaise Room
112 E. Hennepin Ave.
Minneapolis, MN 55414
(612) 379-2021
www.nyespolonaise.com

Nye's Polonaise Room has a long history of serving the Twin Cities and also the antiquity of the building it occupies. Opened since 1950, Nye's requires customers to follow one simple rule: "Jedzcie pijcie i popuszczajcie pas," which translates to "eat, drink and loosen your belt." The venue offers an incredible atmosphere and great authentic Polish cuisine with all kinds of goodies. The spicy shrimp & sausage is a great appetizer with its Polish mustard sauce. The Polish sampler (includes Polish sausage and sauerkraut, cabbage roll, potato dumpling and golden fried cheese) is another must try along with the selections of plates from the Polish specialities section.

Kramarczuks
215 E. Hennepin Ave.
Minneapolis, MN 55414
(612) 379-3018
www.kramarczuk.com

Kramarczuks is considered a Minneapolis landmark and has been operating since 1954. The restaurant was named after the founders, Wasyl and Anna Kramarczuks, who traveled from the Ukraine to the United States in search of the American dream. Years of hard work followed and the dream of establishing a place that prepared Eastern European specialties became a reality. You can find a nice selection of Polish sausages, feast on the Polish mix (cabbage roll, pierogies and sausage) and the Polish peasant pie. Most of all the Polish items are fresh, flavorful and prepared to the highest quality for folks across the Twin Cities.

Ziach Polish Foods
1625 Washington St. N.E.
Minneapolis, MN 55413
(612) 789-0907
www.ziachpolamer.com

Ziach Polish Foods may not operate as a restaurant, but it's an ethnic grocery store in Northeast Minneapolis. If you are the kind of person that likes to razzle and dazzle your very own personal Polish dishes, then this retailer has all the supplies you will need. It has large amounts of meats that range from real Polish kielbasa to kabanosy along with a nice variety of hams and cheeses. Ziach prides itself on selling traditional cuisine for the Polish community and with the additional option to send packages to Poland, it offers the best of both worlds.

The Wienery
414 Cedar Ave. S.
Minneapolis, MN 55467
(612) 333-5798
www.wienery.com

The Wienery doesn't offer exclusively specialized Polish food, but certainly can serve a mouth-watering Polish hot dog. The location was formed by an entrepreneurial couple who were able to bring Chicago-style hot dogs to the Twin Cities dining scene. The restaurant is laid back and the staff is friendly. The food is fast, delicious and inexpensive in every meal served. Even though the hot dogs are tailored with a Chicago-style flavor, you can most certainly ask to substitute a bun with a Polish sausage and personalize all the ingredients that fulfill your taste buds.

Chris & Rob's Chicago's Taste Authority
603 W. 7th St.
St. Paul, MN 55402
(651) 228-9347
www.chrisandrobs.com

The Chris & Rob's Chicago's Taste Authority did not earn its name for nothing. Both founders were born and raised in Chicago. It has been a venue that gets plenty of publicity on the radio and newspapers. The menu may be limited as far Polish cuisine is concerned, but goodies from the hot dog & sausage sandwiches menu section, the Polish sausage and the Maxwell Street Polish are a must try. They are tender, juicy and come with a Chicago-style and classic sauce combined with the ingredients that makes for a happy meal.
