Denver Vies For Warmest September Ever, Breaks 130-Year Old Temperature Record
DENVER (CBS4) - It's still late summer according to the calendar and it sure felt like it Monday afternoon across Colorado.
Denver broke a record high set back in 1885. Monday hit 89°F at Denver International Airport.
The normal high temperature on this date is 76°.
A record high was also tied Monday in both Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
It's been a very warm month so far in the Mile High City with an average temperature of 69.7° for the first 20 days of the month.
Denver's warmest September on record was in 1948 when the average for the month was 68.3°F
Right now it looks like the above normal temperatures will continue for at least another week across the central Rockies. There's a high chance that 2015 will become the warmest September in history for the Denver climate record.
