Bear Spotted Near Border Of Philadelphia And Abington Township
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are warning residents in Philadelphia and Montgomery County to be on the lookout for a bear after receiving reports of sightings.
Chubby's Fox Chase Deli took a photo of the animal which you can see crossing a tree limb on Pine Road and Shady Lane right on the border of Philadelphia and Abington Township.
A deli employee says he sounded the alarm when he saw the bear.
"I was a little frightened because I'm not used to seeing a bear, so it was something new," eyewitness Hafuz Tahiraj said. "It was big, I'd say about 350 pounds, it was a cub though, it was a smaller one."
If you see the bear, don't go near it, call 911.
