Irwindale City Council Drops Complaint Against Sriracha Plant
IRWINDALE (CBSLA.com) — The Sriracha standoff in Irwindale has ended.
The City of Irwindale on Wednesday officially dropped its public nuisance complaint against the hot sauce maker after local residents said the factory was creating an unbearable chili odor.
The decision came after executives at Huy Fong Foods showed city leaders on Tuesday new air filters meant to mitigate the problem.
Irwindale's mayor subsequently asked the city council to drop its complaint.
Council members obliged, voting to dismiss a lawsuit against the company.
