Rally Held In Boston For Kidnapped Nigerian Girls
BOSTON (CBS/AP) -- A rally was held outside the State House Saturday for the kidnapped school girls in Nigera.
The "Bring Back Our Girls" rally was organized by the local Nigerian community and attracted about 2,000 people. Organizers told WBZ-TV, they want to "keep the fire burning" with attention on the crisis and bring the girls home.
An Islamic extremist group called Boko Haram abducted the girls April 15 in the west African country. The group claims to use Islamic teachings as justification for threatening to sell the kidnapped girls into slavery.
An American team is assembling in Nigera to help officials there with the search for kidnapped girls.
The kidnapping has been widely denounced by foreign governments, Islamic scholars and even some militant groups.
