7 Displaced After House Fire In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities said as many as seven people are displaced from two homes after a fire in southeast Minneapolis early Thursday morning.

Crews were called to the fire near 8th St. and 13th Ave. SE around 2:30 a.m. When they arrived, a fire had started on the porch of the home and started spreading. Three people live in the home where the fire seems to have originated.

The house next door, which also suffered fire damage, had four people inside. They also had to be evacuated.

Authorities said everyone was accounted for and made it out safely.

Fire crews fought the fire from inside the home, and a second alarm was called for manpower support. They said the house appears to be a total loss.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
