Sign Of The Times At Coors Field: Puff Away, But Absolutely No Marijuana

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Crack open a cold one, but don't even think about lighting up that doobie.

Recreational use of marijuana is legal in Colorado, but the Rockies won't allow fans to smoke or consume cannabis in any form at Coors Field.

In fact, the Rockies won't even allow it through the gates. Marijuana "(medical or otherwise) in any form" is prohibited in the ballpark, according to the team's website.

And if you manage to sneak it in, you can forget about toking in Coors Field's designated smoking areas.

"Know the law about marijuana use in Denver," the Coors Field guide reads on the Rockies' website. "It is illegal to consume marijuana in public. Smoking or consuming marijuana is prohibited in all areas of Coors Field, including the designated smoking areas."

The New York Mets will make their first trip to Colorado this season for a four-game set starting May 1.
