3 Women Found Dead Inside Hawaiian Gardens Home

HAWAIIAN GARDENS (CBSLA.com/AP) — Three women were found dead at a Hawaiian Gardens house on Monday where a car was running in the garage.

Two of the dead women were found on the floor of the garage next to the running car, and another body was found inside the house.

The three women were all related related -- two adult, twin sisters and their mother, a neighbor said. They were discovered by a family member who was checking on their well-being.

Joseph Valadez, another neighbor, said he was shocked to hear the women had died when he returned home today. He said he observed no signs of trouble leading up to their deaths.

"They were very quiet people -- always kept to themselves," he said. "I helped them a few times with little issues at their house they had. One time the mom locked herself out of the house and the daughters were working and I had to jump the fence to help her get in."

Carbon monoxide was believed to be the cause of the deaths, county fire spokesman David Bantic said. Sheriff's Department homicide detectives, however, were investigating suspicious circumstances.

Three Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies who responded to the scene also had to be treated after apparently being overcome by fumes.

Anyone with information regarding the incident was being urged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
