Police Cruiser Involved In Crash In Bucks County; Bank Robbery Suspects On The Run

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON, Pa. (CBS) -- A police cruiser was involved in a two-car crash in Bucks County Tuesday morning.

The accident happened at 11:15 a.m. at Street Road and Davisville Road in Upper Southampton.

The police cruiser was reportedly responding to a bank robbery in the 1100 block of Street Road when it was involved in a crash.

Chopper 3 was over the scene shortly after crash where it showed a police cruiser with front-end damage and a white sedan with damage to its front passenger door.

The police officer was taken to the hospital but it was not immediately known if others were injured.

The robbery suspects fled the scene in a gray SUV with New York license plates. Police say they had previously entered the TD Bank located at 1100 Street Road wearing fake reddish-colored beards and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

The first suspect is described as a black male who is about 5'10" and in his mid-20s. He was wearing a dark zip-up Yankees hooded sweatshirt and gray latex gloves and was armed with a small handgun.

The second suspect is also said to be a black male who is about 5'10" and in his mid-20s. He was wearing a light-colored zip-up True Religion brand sweatshirt turned inside out. He was also wearing gray latex gloves.

The crash and bank robbery both remain under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
