Sunday Was One Of Warmest Easters On Record

By John Dodge

CHICAGO (CBS) -- After one of the most brutal winters ever in Chicago, the Easter weekend weather was well-earned.

The official high of 79 degrees on Sunday tied for the eighth warmest Easter Sunday on record, according to the National Weather Service.

And the warm weather will continue on Monday, with highs in the mid-70s, according to CBS 2 meteorologist Megan Glaros.

However, storms will move into the area in the late afternoon, and high temperatures will fall back into the 50s on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The record for Easter Sunday is 85 degrees, set back on April 10, 1977.
