LA Times Writer Sam Farmer Predicts NFL Draft Is Coming To Los Angeles

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) - LA football fans have been waiting for nearly 20 years to bring back the NFL back to the second largest market in America.

Since New York's Radio City Hall is booked for April and May, Roger Goodell announced that the draft will move to either Los Angeles or Chicago.

If the draft does indeed move to Los Angeles, Goodell could be hinting that NFL in Los Angeles could be back very soon.

LA Times NFL writer Sam Farmer joined CBS2/KCAL9 Sports Director Jim Hill Saturday on Sports Central to talk the possibilty of the draft coming to Los Angeles.

"I'm going to make a prediction here," said Farmer. "The NFL has not announced. They haven't made the decision, but sometime in the next two weeks, we're going to hear the 2015 NFL draft is coming Los Angeles. It will be in here. It will be at LA Live. Mark my words."

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is also buzzing about NFL in Los Angeles. He told ESPN that he believes there will not just be one team, but two teams within the next 2-3 years that the NFL will return to Downtown Los Angeles.

"We've gone a generation — almost 20 years — without a team in L.A.," Kraft said, via SportsBusiness Daily. "We have a generation of young people growing up not really branded and tied to a team. I think that kind of passion only comes when you have a team you can root for, and I think it's very important."

The Chargers, Raiders and Rams are the teams who could possibly come to Los Angeles.
