Vancouver Stealth Loans Lacrosse Gear To Mammoth Goalie

DENVER (CBS4)- The stolen lacrosse gear from the Colorado Mammoth's goalie hasn't been returned but Dillon Ward will be suited up for their game tomorrow thanks to fellow lacrosse players.

Ward left his equipment outside his residence near 6th and Speer on Thursday where it was stolen. He only has one set of gear and the team left for Calgary on Friday morning.

National Lacrosse League goaltenders typically only own one set of gear.

The Vancouver Stealth offered up its goalie gear for Ward to wear in Saturday's playoff game against the Calgary Roughnecks.

"It's a relief," said Mammoth president and general manager Steve Govett. "Obviously we wish this never happened, and we wish Ward could wear what he feels comfortable in. But, I'm incredibly thankful to [Stealth president & general manager] Doug Locker, and to the others who reached out, for the generous offer. We owe him one!"

The Stealth was one of several NLL teams to make that offer.

Mammoth forward Athan Lannucci will fly from Vancourver to Calgary this afternoon to pick up the gear from the Stealth offices on his way to the airport. Lannucci played for the Mammoth in the 2012-2013 season.
