Guide To The 2014 Made In America Festival
This Labor Day weekend, Jay-Z and Budweiser's Made In America Music Festival will take over Fairmount Park right here in Philadelphia. This exciting two day music festival is back for a third year, and it's just even more jam-packed than it was in 2013, with nearly 50 performing on four stages along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Check out all the need-to-know information below.

Schedule: Rapper (and Mr. Kim Kardashian) Kanye West headlines this year's Made in America Festival, which also includes Kings of Leon, Tiesto and Imagine Dragons.

Tickets:
Tickets for Made in America are still available, and prices start at $89.50 for a single day pass. A two-day pass is $150. Everyone, regardless of age, needs a ticket in order to attend this concert. And be warned: There is NO re-entry if you leave the festival!

Parking, Public Transit and Road Closures:
Road Closures
To accommodate the venue construction and two-day festival, a process of gradual road closures along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and in key sections of the Fairmount neighborhood will begin today, with street closings increasing each day. The full set of closures are scheduled to be implemented by 10 A.M. on Friday, August 29. The full extent of these closures will be in place until Tuesday, September 2.
Delays can be expected and motorists are advised to avoid the area by using alternate routes, and allow for extra driving time in the areas near these festivities before and during Labor Day weekend. Please refrain from double-parking, which creates congestion, limits traffic flow and is illegal.
There are three phases of road closures associated with the construction of the Festival site that are in effect, now through Tuesday, September 2nd. A detailed list of closures is below:
Phase 1:
Wednesday, August 27th: Two lanes in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum will be closed, beginning at 5:00 A.M. These lanes will not re-open until the removal of the staging and equipment following the final concert, or by Tuesday morning. The festivities will end by 11:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 31st.
Phase 2:
Thursday, August 28th: The inner lanes of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway (the inbound and outbound lanes), from 22nd Street to Eakins Oval, will be closed until Tuesday, September 2nd.
Phase 3:
Friday, August 29th: Due to the closure of the inner lanes on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, traffic for Friday morning rush hour headed inbound (to Center City) from Spring Garden Street Bridge or Martin Luther King Drive must exit Eakins Oval on the 24th Street ramp. Traffic headed inbound on Kelly Drive must exit the Drive at Fairmount Avenue.
The full extent of road closures around the Festival site will begin at 10:00 A.M and will remain through the duration of the event. A complete list of road closures and 'no parking' restrictions follows:
Road Closures:
- The Benjamin Franklin Parkway, beginning at 20th Street extending through Eakins Oval and behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art
- 21st Street between Winter & Spring Garden Streets
- 22nd Street between Winter & Fairmount Streets
- 23rd Street between the Benjamin Franklin Parkway & Fairmount Avenue
- 24th Street between Fairmount & Pennsylvania Avenues
- 25th Street between Fairmount & Pennsylvania Avenues
- Spring Garden Street between 20th & 31st Streets, including the Spring Garden Street tunnel
- Kelly Drive between 23rd Street & Fairmount Avenue
- Martin Luther King Drive between the Falls Bridge & the Benjamin Franklin Parkway
- Pennsylvania Avenue between Hamilton & Fairmount Avenues
- 2000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue between the Whole Foods store & 21st Street (the eastern half of the block from the Whole Foods market to 20th Street will remain open to allow access to the store)
- Park Towne Place between 22nd & 24th Streets
- I-676 Westbound off-ramp at 22nd Street (the I-676 Eastbound off-ramp at 23rd Street will be open)
No parking at these locations:
- Pennsylvania Avenue between 22nd Street & Fairmount Avenue (south side of street)
- Winter Street between 20th & 22nd Streets (both sides of street)
- 20th Street between Vine Street & Callowhill Street (east side of street)
- 21st Street between the Benjamin Franklin Parkway & Race Street (both sides of street)
- 22nd Street between Winter & Spring Garden Streets (both sides of street)
- Park Towne Place between 22nd & 24th Streets (both sides of street)
Public Transportation and Paid Parking
Due to Made in America event preparations, SEPTA Bus Routes 7, 32, 33, 38, and 43 will be detoured around the festival area, beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 29 through early-morning on Monday, September 2. Specific route detours are posted on the System Status Page at www.septa.org
Extra late-night service also will be available on SEPTA's Regional Rail Lines on Saturday and Sunday Nights departing Center City. Suburban and 30th Street Stations are in closest walking distance to the festival. Festival participants also can use the Broad Street and Market-Frankford Lines. Train service will operate for 24 hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, replacing the usual Nite Owl Bus Service. Trains operate every 20 minutes, between midnight and 5:00 A.M., with additional frequencies before and after those times. Race-Vine and City Hall stations on the Broad Street Line and 15th Street Station on the Market Frankford Line provide easy walking access to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. PHLASH transportation is an inexpensive way to visit key attractions in Center City ($2 per ride or $5 all-day) and the Parkway vicinity. The PHLASH bus will operate Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31, with stops at 20 locations, from Penn's Landing to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. If driving is necessary, commercial off-street parking lots and garages conveniently are located on or near the Parkway. Contact individual facilities in advance for rates and availability, or visit the Philadelphia Parking Authority's website at www.philapark.org for a list of parking options. Other Important Info:
The festival will include free filtered water services onsite as well as a variety of food choices, from traditional festival and fair food to gourmet food trucks.
There will be plenty of ATM's around the festival site, as well as charging stations to keep the juice up on your phone.
The Budweiser Made in America Festival will benefit United Way organizations in Greater Philadelphia, Southern New Jersey and Lancaster County.
