Nearly 30 Apartments, Homes Red-Tagged In Fullerton Following La Habra Quake

FULLERTON (CBSLA.com) — Fire officials on Saturday red-tagged nearly 30 apartments and homes following the 5.1 quake in La Habra.

Fullerton Fire Department Battalion Chief John Stokes said more than 73 people were now displaced by the temblor.

Inspections by city building inspectors continued into the afternoon, Stokes said.

The apartment complex where units were red-tagged was in the 2700 block of Associated Road in northeast Fullerton while the individual homes were in
northwest Fullerton, Stokes said.

"We've got gas meters broken and five water mains ruptured," he said.

None of the pepole displaced sought shelter from the city's emergency operations center, where an American Red Cross representative was on hand, he
said.

There were three major water main breaks in the city and another four minor leaks at residences and businesses, Stokes said.

Brea City Hall was flooded by a broken pipe on an upper floor of the three-story building, he said.
