Top Bars To Get Local Beer In Philadelphia

Philadelphia is known for being one of the greatest beer cities, and we are lucky that so much great beer is brewed right here at home. You'd be hard pressed not to find a local beer in any bar, but see below for some of the best bars to go to for a local brew. Visit Philly Tap Finder to find a specific beer or what's on tap at a specific bar.

Eulogy Belgian Tavern
136 Chestnut St.
Old City, PA 19106
(215) 413-1918
www.eulogybar.com

Eulogy Belgian Tavern's huge beer list offers more than 300 bottles and 30 taps daily. With such variety on its menu (one of the largest in the city), you're sure to find a local brew perfect for any mood. Susquehanna Atomic Blast IPA and Prism Red Zone are just a few Pennsylvania options you might find on tap. Local beer is well represented on its bottle list as well. Choose from a variety of beers from breweries like Stoudts, Victory and Yards.

Recently named one of "Americas 100 Best Beer Bars for 2014" by Draft Magazine, Northeast Philadelphia's The Grey Lodge has an ever-changing selection of drafts that are updated daily on its website. In fact, it may see as many as 25 different varieties any given week. This pub usually has several local breweries represented, including but not limited to Yards, Flying Fish, Dock Street, Victory, Weyerbacher and Troegs. Beer isn't the only local representation here – The Grey Lodge also displays local artists' work along its walls, and its food is prepared with locally sourced ingredients.

Johnny Brenda's
1201 Frankford Ave
Philadelphia, PA 19125

Johnny Brenda's, like its sister restaurant Standard Tap, only uses ingredients from local farmers and only serves drafts from the area. It has 10 drafts and two cask-conditioned brews. Some of the breweries it gets its drafts from include Manayunk Brewing Company, Philadelphia Brewing Company and Stoudt's Brewing Company. Like its sister, the draft list is constantly changing and the food menu is updated daily on a chalkboard. After trying a few local beers, head upstairs and you might be able to catch some quality local music (and some national acts as well).

Standard Tap
901 N. 2nd St.
Philadelphia, PA 19123
(215) 238-0630
www.standardtap.com

Standard Tap only serves local brews and locally sources the ingredients for its ever-changing menu, which is updated daily on a chalkboard. Every day, this Northern Liberties bar has 20 beers on tap and two cask-conditioned ales and offers only the best beer from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. It gets beer from unique breweries like Susquehanna Brewing Company, Round Guys Brewery, the Other Farm Brewing Company and, of course, from Sly Fox, Stoudts and Yards. Enjoy your beer outside on its quaint rooftop during the warmer months or nestled by the fire during the winter.

Sto's Bar offers a bunch of local beers on both draft and in bottles. This place has great specials throughout the week, like $10 for Walt Wit Pitchers and $3 for rotating drafts, and is a great place to watch the game, as it has 10 large screen TVs. It's also full of other options for entertainment like arcade games, Xbox and Nintendo 64.
