Naked Man On Leash In W. Va. Could Face Charges

OHIO COUNTY, W. Va. – (KDKA) – A couple from Washington County could be facing charges after a bizarre incident Tuesday morning.

Yup, there they were at a busy four-way intersection on U.S. 40, a national road, at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A naked man down on all fours, ankles bound, hood over his head, being walked on a leash by a woman wearing a purple nightgown.

"That was the weirdest day ever. Yep, I hope it the weirdest day ever," said Lt. Nelson Croft, of the Sheriff's Office in Ohio County, West Virginia.

A picture of the couple was snapped on a cell phone by a passing driver.

"We started knocking on doors," says Lt. Croft.

Tips led to an apartment building on Roney's Point Road.

"The female at first denied any involvement," Lt. Croft said. "We had a witness positively identify her, and she admitted it, as did the male."

The woman is identified as Barbara Jean "B.J." Geardello, age 53, and her 56-year-old boyfriend, Robert Deyell, both are originally from Pennsylvania.

What were they doing? Possibly getting in the mood for the movie version of that best-selling novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey" coming soon to a theater near you.

Or perhaps, auditioning for a spot on the Discovery Channel's over-exposed reality series, "Naked and Afraid."

"They said it was consensual sex, a consensual sex game, and they were offended that people were stopping and calling them freaks," Lt. Croft.

Cindy Hunter lives nearby.

"I was like, 'Oh My God! He's naked, and she's walking a human being,'" she said.

Deyell, who told deputies he was a willing participant, was not seriously injured, says Lt. Croft.

"Except for ligature marks, obvious ligature marks on his feet and ankles," he added. "Other than that, he denied any injury. We won't go into the other thing."

Neither Geardello nor Deyell has been charged yet.

The District Attorney is mulling over possibilities, likely indecent exposure.
