Graco Recalling 4.7M Strollers Over Amputation Concerns

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- About 4.7 million strollers are being recalled because, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, they could amputate children's fingers.

The CPSC said the folding hinge on the side of a number of Graco strollers could pinch a child's finger, which could lead to serious injuries.

There have been 11 reports of finger injuries so far, including six reports of fingertip amputation, the CPSC reported.

In all, eleven models made after August 2000 are currently being recalled -- the Aspen, Breeze, Capri, Cirrus, Glider, Kite, LiteRider, Sierra, Solara, Sterling and TravelMate Model Strollers and Travel Systems models.

These strollers were sold at Target, Toys R Us, Walmart and Amazon.com, among other online retailers.
