Police Searching For Driver In Motorcycle Hit & Run After Car Found

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - Police have found the car that rear-ended and critically injured a motorcyclist Saturday, but they're still searching for the driver.

David Nazeri, 56, was thrown from his bike as he was exiting U.S. 36 eastbound. He is still hospitalized in critical condition.

Cherri Spottke with the Westminster police said the suspect was driving a Toyota Scion. It was found outside the city, and the car's owner is cooperating with police to find the driver.

"Come forward. Tell us what happened. Accidents happen. We realize that," Spottke said. "That may be the case, but we just need to know that."

Nazeri's neighbors are hoping he'll recover.

"I'm really sorry, and I hope he gets well soon," Guadalupe de Flores said. "I hope he's doing OK, and I'll keep him in my prayers."

In an unrelated accident, Denver police are searching for a suspect in a pedestrian hit-and-run incident at Broadway and Colfax Avenue on May 25.

The victim was crossing at the intersection when he was struck. The driver fled the scene in what police describe as a black or dark green Honda Civic that may have damage to the front passenger area.
