NHL Trade Deadline Live Blog: Chris Stewart Going To Minnesota

4:48 p.m.: A minor trade crept through, as the Bruins sent Jared Knight to the Wild organization in exchange for Zack  Phillips.

4:02 p.m.: One more late one: Korbinian Holzer is going from Toronto to Anaheim. No word yet on the return.

3:35 p.m.: We got the Caron news, as it's Max Talbot going to Boston in exchange for the winger.

Elsewhere, the Ducks got James Wisniewski and a third-round pick from the Blue Jackets in exchange for Rene Bourque, William Karlsson and a second-rounder.

I think that might do it on the day. If so, pretty disappointing day.

3:27 p.m.: Apparently the phone lines at the NHL offices are jammed. Perhaps they should invest in call waiting.

3:15 p.m.: Still waiting on word on the Caron trade. In the meantime, Sven Baertschi was traded.

3:04 p.m.: The winner of the Chris Stewart sweepstakes, if you want to call it that, is apparently Minnesota.

That was apparently news to Stewart himself, who was on live TV when the trade went down.

3:03 p.m.: The deadline has hit, so it's time for news to trickle out. Like this one:

2:58 p.m.: The Bruins have reportedly traded Jordan Caron. Details to come shortly.

The Canadiens also added another player:

2:57 p.m.: Cam Atkinson was believed to be on the move today, but he's officially off the market.

2:54 p.m.: Hitting the home stretch now. Remember, trades always trickle in after the 3 p.m. deadline, so we should have about a 15-minute window here to get the trades rolling in.

2:20 p.m.: Olli Jokinen will be joining his 10th NHL team.

He has seven points this season.

2:18 p.m.: The Minnesota Wild have acquired Jordan Leopold from Columbus in exchange for Justin Falk and a pick.

2:08 p.m.: Another trade --

Conacher has just three points this season.

1:41 p.m.: Tough break for Islanders backup goalie Chad Johnson. He got dealt to Buffalo in exchange for Michael Neuvirth.

Neuvirth has a .918 save percentage and 2.99 GAA, compared to Johnson's .889 save percentage and 3.08 GAA. Johnson had served as Jaroslav Halak's primary backup, but now he'll head to Buffalo.

1:35 p.m.: Another couple of trades that won't make too many headlines around North America:

We're about to hit the home stretch. I anticipate some actual action will take place between 2 and 3 p.m.

1:21 p.m.: The Islanders, in one of the best positions they've been at this point in the season in quite some time, have made an addition.

Kennedy has four goals and five assists this season. But at just 28 years old, the Isles are hoping he can recapture his scoring prowess from 2010-12.

The Sharks will get a conditional third-round 2016 pick.

1:08 p.m.: If you were hoping for the Bruins to acquire Jordan Eberle, you may be disappointed.

1:03 p.m.: Here's a more interesting trade:

The 38-year-old Zidlicky had a no-trade clause, but he waived it in order to go to Detroit. That might stifle the thought that the Red Wings might actually trade for Dion Phanuef, but we shall see. Two hours to go.

12:55 p.m.: It's been quite a lull, but there is a trade to report.

Ben Smith is reportedly going from Chicago to San Jose.

Smith has just nine points in 61 games this year. Desjardins has eight points in 56 games this season.

12:08 p.m.: The Coyotes aren't solely interested in getting rid of players, as they just made two additions off the waiver wire.

Elliotte Friedman reports that the Coyotes claimed Craig Cunningham (Boston) and Tye McGinn (San Jose) off waivers.

For Boston, that's the second player lost to waivers this season. Edmonton claimed Matt Fraser earlier this season.

11:42 a.m.: Chris Stewart remains a popular name being bandied about today. He's not a great player, and some would argue he's not a very good player, but his price has apparently gone down today, with Buffalo looking to move him before it's too late.

11 a.m.: The trades are rolling now. The Blues have acquired D-man Zbynek Michalek from Arizona.

The Coyotes are selling like crazy, as expected. That's now Michalek, Yandle and Vermette all gone in a matter of days.

10:49 a.m.: The Candiens are busy.

According to Bob McKenzie, they've acquired Brian Flynn from the Sabres.

Flynn has five goals and 12 assists in 54 games this year. Flynn is from Lynnfield, Mass., and he played four years at the University of Maine.

9:30 a.m.: We've got a trade. The Canadiens have made a nice addition, getting defenseman Jeff Petry from Edmonton. The Candiens give up two picks -- one is a second-rounder, the other is a conditional fifth-round pick.

9:15 a.m.: Fear not, Bruins fans. If that Brett Connolly pickup didn't give you that Monday morning jolt you wanted, there should be more coming:

It's been long assumed that the Bruins would trade for (or at least attempt to) a veteran blue-liner, and the Connolly acquisition may give them some wiggle room to do just that.

8:30 a.m.: Good morning, hockey fans. Today is deadline day.

I'll admit, there's no denying that Sunday saw a ton of action around the NHL, and some of the big names have been taken off the table. But, that just opens the door for all of us to be surprised by a few moves today.

Here's what went down over the weekend:

Antoine Vermette went from Arizona to Chicago in exchange for a first-round pick and Klas Dahlbeck.

Keith Yandle, along with Chris Summers and a fourth-round pick, went from Arizona to the New York Rangers in exchange for Anthony Duclair, John Moore, a 2016 first-round pick and a 2015 second-round pick.

Brett Connolly is going to the Bruins in exchange for a pair of second-round picks.

Erik Cole and a third-rounder went from the Stars to the Red Wings for Mattias Backman, Mattas Janmark and a second-round pick.

Kimmo Timonen went from Philly to Chicago for a second-rounder and conditional fourth-rounder.

Braydon Coburn will reportedly go to the Lightning in exchange for Radko Gudas, a first-round pick and a third-round pick.

Tim Gleason went from Carolina to Washington for Jack Hillen and a fourth-round pick.

Tomas Fleischmann went from Florida to Anaheim in exchange for Dany Heatley and a third-rounder.

Curtis Glencross went from Calgary to Washington in exchange for a second- and a third-round pick.

James Sheppard went from the Sharks to the Rangers for a fourth-rounder.

Clearly, NHL general managers took advantage of having a weekend precede this year's deadline.

As far as the Bruins go, they have been rumored to be in on Cam Atkinson and Matt Beleskey, so we'll see if anything materializes from those rumors after the team acquired Brett Connolly late Sunday.

We'll also have updates all day with every bit of news and every report from around the entire NHL. Follow along and check back often!
